How to reduce the gap between the rich and the poor

Belgrade, 27th April 2017 – Today's presentation of the new online platform for Monitoring Social Situation in Serbia MONS ( highlighted that the great increase in inequality has negative consequences on economic growth and stability of the society. Serbia's Income and living conditions survey shows that our country has the greatest inequality in the distribution of income in Europe for the last 3 years, measured by the so-called Gini coefficient. In addition, in Serbia, 20% of the population with the highest income earns 9 times more than 20% of the poorest and it is the largest ratio in Europe.
